A Super Weird Happening
Part of a series of 5 Super Weird Happenings as summer shifts to autumn (the others taking place in Manchester, Bristol, Liverpool and London), this is an 8 hour event unlike any other, which takes in talk – with Steve Mason, live art, visuals, photography, a Blind Arcade performance, and a 3 hourGreg Wilson DJ finale.
Super Weird Substance is a multi-media label founded by Greg Wilson on 1st April 2014. It will deal primarily with recording and live events, the flagship project being Blind Arcade, featuring collaborators Kermit and EVM128
Inspired by the artistic gatherings of the sixties counterculture, this first Happening of the tour opens with, in conversation with Steve Mason -former member of The Beta Band and now leading artist in his own right, DJ and cultural curator Greg Wilson, plus Blind Arcade frontman and cult Manc icon Kermit Leveridge (Black Grape, Ruthless Rap Assassins and Broken Glass). Talks will take place in seminal Glasgow artist, Jim Lambie’s Poetry Club.
Steve Mason will also be DJing upstairs in SWG3 before Blind Arcade along with Melting Pot. Doors will open at 9pm.
Guest DJs and invited artists (to be announced) will set the tone throughout the evening, before a much anticipated live performance from Blind Arcade, following this summer’s viral success of the life-affirming good vibes mixtape, ‘Blind Arcade Meets Super Weird Substance In The Morphogenetic Field’:
Greg Wilson, whose multimedia platform Super Weird Substance is hosting the Happening in conjunction with Melting Pot, will bring the party to its conclusion in his own inimitable style, playing the tunes for the final 3 hours.
The In Conversation part of the evening will be held in The Poetry Club at SWG3 from 7pm. Entry to this part of the evening will be free, but ticket holders will have preferred entry.
